Contracts, payslips and ID scans should not be readable by anyone who happens to get the file. The Protect tool encrypts a PDF with a password of your choice, so it asks for that password before it opens.
We cannot recover your password. If you forget it, the file cannot be opened — keep it somewhere safe.
